Bel Alton High School Alumni Association CDC
Preserving Legacy Through Black History Month Media Production
Project Overview
Bel Alton High School Alumni Association CDC partnered with Done With Dots to capture, edit, and deliver high-quality media content for their Black History Month event on February 15, 2025. Opting for the Done By Week package, they sought professional support to document their program through photos and videos that could be used for promotion, archiving, and future outreach efforts.
Project Details
The project required:
✅ Capturing key moments of the Black History Month celebration
✅ Conducting post-event interviews with key figures
✅ Editing over 86 photos and videos to the highest quality
✅ Creating a streamlined content access system for the Alumni Association team
✅ Providing final deliverables in an organized, user-friendly format
Project Process
1. Initial Consultation: The project kicked off with a detailed discussion with the Vice Chair of the Alumni Association to outline expectations, goals, and deliverables. Understanding their vision ensured that the final content would align with their needs.
2. On-Site Logistics & Pre-Event Preparation: Before the event, I visited the venue to assess the site layout, lighting, staff coordination, and key event moments. This preparation allowed for a smooth capture of the event’s most impactful moments.
3. Content Collection: As the program unfolded, I was responsible for collecting real-time photos and videos, ensuring all significant aspects of the event were documented, including speeches, performances, and audience engagement.
4. Editing & Post-Production: Over the course of a week, I meticulously sorted through 86+ photos and video clips, selecting the best moments for professional editing. This included: Enhancing video quality, adding transitions, and captions, retouching photos for clarity and consistency, omitting background noise and ensuring smooth playback
Conclusion & Results
Upon completion, the Bel Alton High School Alumni Association received:
✅ A dedicated media folder with all finalized content for easy access
✅ Three fully edited high-quality videos featuring event highlights and interviews
